Wanuskewin is seeking a dynamic, culturally grounded and experienced business leader who will lead us through the next phase of our renewal. Are you an Indigenous individual who is as comfortable in ceremony as you are in the boardroom? Do you feel rooted in the prairies and maintain global dreams? Are you a team builder who can foster an environment of respect, entrepreneurial enthusiasm and resilience? Are you a partnership-driven leader who can balance community expectations and sound business practices? Can you organize effectively, delegate responsibly, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly? if the answers to those questions are yes, then we want to hear from you.
Wanuskewin Heritage Park is a National Historic Site that brings to life the history and culture of the Northern Plains Indigenous peoples. The 760 acre Park located north of the City of Saskatoon stands as a living memorial to the people who gathered here for over 6,000 years. The stewardship of the Park and its resources rests with the Wanuskewin Heritage Park Authority established under the Wanuskewin Heritage Park Act of Saskatchewan.
In 2017, the Park launched Thundering Ahead, a $40 Million capital fundraising campaign that aims to expand and renovate the building, elevate the interpretive experience to international standards, apply for UNESCO World Heritage designation and bring back a herd of bison. The successful candidate respects the role of Corporate Canada and the donations that drive charitable ventures; in addition to being passionate about environmental sustainability, art and history, bison ecology and global tourism trends.
